Colour. Shimmer. Detail.
Crafted by Hand. Slowly.
Inspired by nature, Natalie’s work is an exploration of natural forms, the play of light, and ideas about lightness, fragility and impermanence. She approaches each piece like it’s a watercolour painting, layering washes of transparent and translucent colours, fragments of shimmering 24K gold leaf, silver foil or dichroic glass, tiny opaque dots and fine lines, and delicate floral or abstract murrine to create rich, complex compositions.
All flameworked glass beads and their components, including the little floral murrine (flowers), are hand made using traditional flameworking techniques, simple hand held tools and soft glass from Italy (Effetre), Germany (Reichenbach), and the USA (Double Helix). Each piece is then annealed in a kiln for strength and durability, and set into handcrafted sterling silver settings.
Flame chemistry, temperature, timing and the movement of her hands ensure that each bead and each piece of jewellery is one of a kind and collectible.

Inspired by Nature
Inspired by nature, Natalie’s work is an exploration of natural forms, the play of light, and ideas about lightness, fragility and impermanence.
As the artist and maker, she hand crafts each piece slowly and with care in her studio - one at a time.
Small enough to hold in the palm of your hand, the scale and detail of her work encourages you to look closer and discover the hidden world within.

Traditional Techniques + Materials
Using traditional flameworking techniques, each piece is created by melting and winding molten glass onto a steel mandrel, layering colours, adding details and shaping the glass using heat, gravity and simple tools.
All flameworked glass beads and their components, including the little floral murrine (flowers), are individually hand made using soft glass from Italy (Effetre), Germany (Reichenbach), and the USA (Double Helix). Each piece is then annealed in a kiln for strength and durability, and set into handcrafted sterling silver settings.
